B Allan Graphics Installs Fifth Sakurai

B Allan Graphics, established in 1987 is celebrating their 20th year serving Chicago's south suburban industry with graphic communication.

Bruce A. Smith, President, (hence the B Allan company name) recently installed his fifth Sakurai press. This press is a Sakurai 472EDII, 20" x 28" four-color press equipped with plate changing, auto ink roller wash and console to name a few features, making the latest Sakurai the most automated.

"My first Sakurai press – I call old blue (blue because it was distributed by Miehle) was installed in 1991. This helped me grow into my second press in 1993, which was a 20" x 28" two-color low pile press I bought from Sakurai. Then, in 1994 we moved into our current location and after settling in for a few years, put in our first four-color 17-3/4" x 22-3/4" press. The four-color press opened up more markets and more business. "And, in 2003, we bought a 272 high pile from Fuller Grafix, Inc, to replace my blue machine," stated Bruce.

"Everything was going great and the four-color needs of my customers pushed me into my fifth Sakurai, the 472ED. That’s my press history, and we really like the Sakurai press for its ease of operation and reliability. Sakurai and Fuller Grafix, Inc. are so easy to work with; it was easy to put the Sakurai press in our plant."

What’s next for B Allan and Sakurai? Stay tuned...
